Although there are some varieties of water snails which are very detrimental to a pond, some snails are of great benefit to a pond as scavengers. They will eat excess food and help control algae. Every pond should have “good” snails as they constitute part of a properly balanced eco system.
The best snail to have in your pond is the Ramshorn snail, so named due to ts shape.
Recommended for ponds up to 500L
